VIDEO: BP and The Girl Scout Law

By a stroke of good fortune, I am acquainted with a dedicated Girl Scout leader, known as Mrs. H to her troop. The budding scriptwriters/animators/editors/voice-over artists/scorers and every other movie role, seven nine-year-olds in her troop, have a new movie debuting on YouTube this week. It’s called The Girl Scout Law Adventure.

It made me think of British Petroleum and the Gulf debacle.

found The Girl Scout Law on the Girl Scout website just to make sure I had heard it right.

I will do my best to be

honest and fair,

friendly and helpful,

considerate and caring,

courageous and strong, and

responsible for what I say and do,

and to

respect myself and others,

respect authority,

use resources wisely,

make the world a better place, and

be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Consider the adjectives in its first stanza. Applicable to BP? I don’t think so.

Now the verbs in the second half. BP? Not so much.

I really enjoyed The Girl Scout Law Adventure. If you did, tell your friends.

And BP, since little else is working, how’s about you invite every Girl Scout you can get your hands on to the Gulf, and see if, by following their example, you could make the Gulf a better place?

And a little girl shall lead them.
