Too funny and true! I just married into a Thai family and moved to San Diego. I'm not sure if it's a Thai thing or a West Coast thing, but I am constantly being told that I've lost weight. Apparenty I was looking rather "healthy" on my wedding day!

Ahh … This weight thing. It's so amazing how people make weight such an important issue in their lives. Instead of being taking care of their bodies, they're all paranoid about what size they wear.

At least your family says "healthy" in my family if you've gained weight they just plain out straight say it to your face.

"Your getting fat! You stopped going to the gym?"

I read all your previous post and I have to say your an amazing writer.

Ok this is not exactly a comment on this one, but did not know whr to write to you, so here goes:

these are written like in 2007 and 08. we are well half way into 2009. Perhaps you could give it a short now that you've had your sabbatical

Gosh I have to comment. Haha..it's really so true! Always get the comments from people from our country. Even people I am just familiar with & never spoken to. Not too long ago a little older gentleman I usually see in my office building remarked "Don't you eat?" while passing me by in the hallway. That was really unexpected :-) . It felt nice but can be annoying too. And you gave a new positive perspective Rahul … yeah, some are surely saying that out of genuine care :) .

Wonderful reading this. Love your observations. And it was funny :)

    Harshi.
