What’s your favorite holiday food?

With Thanksgiving behind us, we’re looking ahead to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and more holidays.

This is a season of eating and culinary specialties!

I love pfeffernusse, a German Christmas cookie only sold in November and December.

    I LOVE cranberry sauce.

This Thanksgiving I made it with two bags of fresh cranberries- made according to the package directions. I added sliced apples, and fresh dried cherries, clementine orange wedges and cinnamon. I had a fresh made cranberry with pomegrante and blueberry compote I had bought at Whole foods and added this to the mixture. EVERYONE LOVED it. I sort of made it up as I went along. This may have been a good filling for a pie.

I also LOVE rolled sugar cookies with icing and I always make fudge. I make the fudge from the marshmellow cream jar. I add a little extra vanilla. I had heard that vanilla enhances the flavor of chocolate. Just don't add too much extra that the fudge doesn't firm up enough.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

My favorite Thanksgiving foods are sweet and sour red cabbage and pumpkin pie.

My favorite Christmas food is a European dish called Babolky made with a sweet dough and poppy seeds. It's a comfort food from kidhood.
