Whitney Houston Dies…

Whitney Houston – such an incredibly dynamic talent – has died at 48.  So sad. :(

So many great songs.

Remember The Greatest Love of All…

I actually loved The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner.

Once again, a great talent who obviously had demons she fought.  Addiction, whether it was specifically at play in her death, haunted her.

Lets remember and honor her incredible talent…
What are your favorite songs or Whitney Houston moments?

I'm sorry Mallika I don't want to remember her "great songs" because they were, in reality, along with her singing career cut way too short by her marriage to Bobbie Brown, a union, immersed in drugs and that union produced a child, now 19 years old, who is reportedly struggling with drugs herself..

In Whitney Houston's case her great and lovely voice was overshadowed by years of drug abuse. Her talent passed away years ago.

I am thinking about her child and her parents at this time, not her few great songs or the talent she divorced when she married so many years ago.

I hear your frustration and sadness. I did not know Whitney Houston, but I was mesmerized by her talent. I followed her career and her struggles, and like so many others, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, the addictions and stress of being a celebrity obviously was too much for her to survive.

In fact, I have to admit that I have a hard time listening to Michael Jacksons songs, and couldn't get myself to go to the Cirque du Soleil show. It felt too raw to just remember him as just songs. So I completely get your sentiment above.

For years, I have wondered about how her child has survived an obviously tumultuous childhood.

    Sad.
