Who would you like to see blogging on Intent?

So today’s question isn’t really as ‘theoretical’ as some of my past questions. :)

I want to know who you want to see on Intent blogging.  Whether it be a celeb, an author, an expert- who do you want to see on the site?

Sound off and let us know!  We will actually be making a very real effort to reach out to your suggested bloggers.  Let us know who makes your heart sing.

Be sure to check back on Friday for another question of the day you will want to participate in- along similar lines.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! :)

About Dave

Welcome to my Intent profile! I am very excited about this website as it helps to make us all more aware of our personal, social, and global intentions- while also providing a plethora of mind expanding content. Feels more like hanging out at a yoga studio than a large auditorium. A lot of social networks allow you to meet people via your favorite things- but what about our intentions and who we are in the process of becoming? Isn't that worth focusing on?? I think so. That said, I am a very laid back person who strives to appreciate all the goodness that is around. When I get a wiff of something not so good, I try to focus on the opposite, and immediately move in that direction. Sometimes that is easier said than done, but it is what I strive for. I love the fresh air and sun. A big nature fan. I get it, and it gets me. Also a big fan of the internet and all of these new ways that we are able to communicate at lightning speeds. Always been a fan of building community and bringing the global community together in venues like this that transcend cultural barriers. You might see me around these parts pretty often as I help out with community building efforts. Please say hi, and always feel welcome to offer any feedback. I will always make sure it gets to the right people. Speaking of which, be sure to check out Mallika's awesome idea to really give this site a whirl and set an intention every day for 30 days! http://www.intent.com/mallikachopra/blog/dear-intent-community-join-me-my-30-days-intentions

Why does it have to be a celebrity? Why should a blogger be well known ? What is wrong with regular people blogging? You get the real picture of the real world when those not so famous blog. Celebrities may blog also. I am not against it.

I'd like to see the blogs that every person posts on Intent presented in a dated roll, instead of featuring Intent bloggers. I still don't understand why the intents of certain people are featured for days on end, while the rest of the community intents have to be searched out. Your present format causes a real hesitation on getting involved, according to my invited friends, because it looks like more of a marketing format for certain individuals than an equality-based community. Giving certain people more importance than others seems antithetical to the intention of building community. If this is truly a community forum, it seems like there needs to be less of an over-arching presence of the intent team, and more developed presence on behalf of the everyday people who like to see intentions and blogs based on when they are entered, rather than how well-known the blogger is. This being said, I have enjoyed reading and connecting with the team, so don't hear this as a personal affront to your own sharing. I'm only looking for more of a balance.

George Clooney- and his involvment with not under my watch group-or a profile of the "not under my watch group". Celebrity charity has inspired me to find a way to make my lifes work a career of giving and restoring balance to the exploited classes and people. I didnt ask for a materialistic lifestyle based on the exploitation of others- and where everythign is taken for granted- I was born into it! And now I have completely over the last 15 years transformed away from it. A counselor once told me otherness is a mechanism of the narcisssistic personality style.

Additionaly I owuld like to see celing and Fabian cousteau – for thier work withthe oceans, and in getting regulations on NAVY (war monger) sonar "testing"- which is destroying sea life. I would like to see a profile and blog of the latest mega lotto winner- so that we may all be inspired by their charitable concepts and effectiveness:)

Obama would be nice.. I know he is a little busy.. So perhaps Michelle would work to the same affect. Marlo Morgan "mutant message from down under" author. Bono is a nice pick….. Fred Alen Wolfe is a nice pick too.

How about Stephen Simon, founder of Spiritual Cinema Circle and producer of What Dreams May Come and Conversations with God movie?

  20. meadysmusings December 11, 2008 at 9:07 am #

Matthew he would be nice to hear from but isnt he part of the Gaia community? He had a part or made some of my fav films like you say What Dreams May Come but you know he actually was involved in the project in some way for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure something that impacted me big at around 11/12 I think I was!

I joined up there on Gaia and I am on something called Copperstrings but I really spend most of my time on here so it would be nice…It's hard to be on too many things I find…like someone in charge in Copperstrings has written to me asking to help out with something called copperwiki and so I might have to go on there more. And they all seemed to be interconnected like I got onto copperstrings cause they sponsored The Peace Intention Experiment that Lynne Mc Taggart runs…she is already on here but not often it seems…then I got a fellow blogger send me a short film called Validate which led me to the Spiritual Cinema Circle and that led me to Gaia.

I used to be on Candle4Tibet which was my first time getting into social networking off of Facebook and it is how I did my own local public lighting for Tibet and freedom as a whole…Candle4Tibet is on the Ning network but I joined it off Facebook. And I only joined Facebook initially in 07 to reconnect with old face to face friends. Candle4Tibet could have been nice but I dont know…I think the leader of if is too obsessed with just getting the numbers and then it morphed into iPeace. And for sure they just think it

    Iyinoluwa,

Do you mean —osama….binladen? The same osama binladen that is responsible for the the death of thousands of Americans killed in the twin towers, the Pentagon, and on three American airplanes? That bin laden?

Razz, maybe the person just wants to walk in the shoe's of Bin Laden to see how he thinks you know…not necessarily to agree with or support him but to walk in the shoes…

I also support Robin's request for the Dalai Lama…

  33. Razz December 12, 2008 at 10:19 am #

    Babita,

To see how he thinks? To walk in his shoes? We saw how he thinks. His shoes walk an evil path.

You mean like we should also invite him to be interviewed by Larry King….and try to understand his point of view? He must have one. Let's all give him a forum to explain, so that we might understand his reason for wanting thousands of people dead.

Could you sit on the other side of a table and listen to this man, or any person, explain why he or she desired to blow up a friend or relative of yours x 2000 or x 4000?

Babita, I am a peaceful person and I love unconditionally and I believe in second and third chances and I am more than accepting of all people different from me and I know each human being has their own belife system and they live accordingly…I also know that there is a reason for every act, good and bad…

The jeffery Dahmers, the Charles Mansons, the Jack the rippers,

    The Gasey's just to mention a few …of this world, don't need to explain to me their evilness..as don't the Hitler's the Mussolini's, the Lenin's,The saddam's….the obama's.

I for one do not need to hear their explanations of their evilness. It is quite apparent.

However I am in favor of setting them up for trapping and capturing them. Saddam's own people were in favor of that. Do you think that any of the Kurds wanted for him to explain why he so deliberately and with evil on his mind wanted to …understand why he was so evil?

I am also all for free speech…100% osama expressed his free speech in his evilness and his acts. The whole world heard his free speech, and saw his act of free will… loud and clear. Almost 4000 souls will never hear ever again. And for every soul that was blown up on the word of one man there are at least 30-40 maybe 50, or 60, other human beings, mothers, fathers, babies, daughtes, sons, brothers, sisters, aunts uncles…etc, etc, etc, at least…attached to the lost soul..making it more than 6000,000 that is more than half a million lives, totally destroyed…not to mention friends and neighbors.

I for one do not need or desire to hear the evil one explain why they acted with and in such disregard for human life. The statement made by their act… is enough for me.

    In love, peace, and understanding,

    Razz

Hey Raz dont beat up on me! I never asked to see him on here was someone else! :) I was just saying it may be why they'd want to see him on here. My speculation…

But yes even if people are 'evil' and do 'bad' things yes I do find it interesting to know why or how they rationalise the whole thing in their head. Of course sometimes in walking in the shoes I realise I can't handle it and I take them off…I really do…as you can see in my blog about certain aspected of the festival of Eid-Ul-Adah.

    http://universalcollectiveprayer.blogspot.com/200

Also like I have on my bookshelf one of the other books done by the famous psychiatrist author of "The Road Less Travelled" fame- M. Scott Peck and it is called "People of the Lie"…it still sits on my shelf yrs after purchase cause I tried to read it but got too scared reading it! Although the "Road Less Travelled" is on my top ten favs ever and I've also since read "Further Along the Road Less Travelled". Even when he wrote it, if you read in the preface the author was scared too and said he didnt understand or relate to it etc etc personally and also had certain dilemas about publishing it etc etc…I dont recall the details offhand now.

And of course Razz, the request I guess was all in jest cause no one expected him to really be asked on here plus it would mean he was found if he was he should be arrested then I'd think so…unless they were seriously expecting him to log on from somewhere and of course that would put the Intent team in a set of issues so…

By the way Razz I thought you were on my friends list as a person called RAZ but Im now seeing just similar names….so Im gonna send you a friend request! :)

  37. Razz December 12, 2008 at 11:58 am #

Oh Babita, I was not beating up on you at all. I love your soul. I am was not even beating up on the person who requested osama. I was expressing total awe.

I was stating why I believe a person like osamabinladen has already explained his evil thoughts by way of his evil actions.

Our thoughts become our actions when we give our thoughts life. A persons actions tell us what their thought were, evil as well as good.

And yes, Babita, I already considered us friends and did not realize that we had not made it official. I have since received your request and answered immediately in the positive. So how about lunch and we can toast to it?

"People of the Lie" what is it about?

    In peace and love,

Cool Razz and got your messages of course too by now. But yea as I told you I never got by the first few pages of "People of the Lie" because it scared me! :) I dont know I cant be alone when I read that I think! :) Im afraid of "Exorcist" type things a bit to be honest! Here is the Amazon link to it and the prod. des. Speaking of it here now I might go try read it again and who knows get scare again!

    "Product Description

A description of the author's experience of psychiatric therapy with patients who appear manifestly evil which attempts to show that a spiritual or even religious dimension is required to aid in the understanding of human nature. –This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title."

"M.Scott Peck is a psychiatrist turned author and lecturer. His name is a household word with the self-help crowd. In People of the Lie, Peck takes on the topic of evil. The"volume" cited is not an abridgment but a group of case studies from the first chapters of the book, along with commentary. The presentations are consistently well done. BTW I think the doctor has passed on….when I first discovered and then completed reading The Road Less Travelled a couple yrs ago(although its been out and a landmark best seller since I was <4) I went to the author's website to find that he seem to be in last dying days…it was a shame cause you felt you so wanted to connect with the man behind that at that point.

So yep the late great M. Scott Peck would have been someone I'd want to have blog on here too…who knows perhaps through someone else's fingers?! :)

Yep just checked his site and he did die just a few mths after I finished reading his book. Sad to know…when I had gone on there I figured he was dying and never checked back till today to confirm. So now I know for sure…

    R.I.P. = M.Scott Peck

I know totally off topic to the thread but in following with what I was saying. I just pulled out from my book shelf:

    The Road Less Travelled

Further Along the Road Less Travelled

    and

    People of the Lie

All of them have not worn well as the they are low price editions I guess but they are all browny.

I now realise…cause every time I buy a book I sign my own name in them and date it :) Something I adopted as a child fashioning it after an uncle of mines! :)

And it's interesting cause Road Less Traveled and People of the Lie are both dates 19 Dec 01

And Further Along The Road Less Traveled is 8 Dec 05

So it is really after a re-reading of The Road Less Travelled I found out on his website that then the author was dying and later on bought the the further along one…now I remember…its also interesting that it is almost 7 yrs now that I've owned that People of the Lie book and have not read it! I'm going to give it a shot again tonight perhaps courtesy of Razz! :) And I'll probably get scared! :(

Just interesting to re-discover all these 'browned' books again and M.Scott Peck.

At least we are lucky to get to interact with Deepak Chopra on here while he is all healthy well and alive! :) And Shekhar Kapur and all the amazing others! :)

Perhaps the left brain stroke lady will be another good one…

I have a son that is unable to speak due to cerebral palsy. He has never said a mean word in his life. Can you imagine that!? In his light, I have often paused to reflect about how people misuse their voices. How I misuse my voice. I wondered how does one clearly express their intention with language? How do you take responsibility and avoid judging others? How do you offer another support and empathy?

I discovered the strategies to speak and listen compassionately when I read Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication. It would be great if Marshall or one of the trainers from the Center for Nonviolent Communication would blog on intent.

I have found his principles for communicating needs and offering empathy a challenge, because I have to change the way I communicate and listen, it takes more effort to be clear about my feelings and needs. It takes more effort to listen to another and try to connect to their feelings and needs. But the journey towards compassion is joyful!

Actually, less so called experts and definitley not celebrities, especially with farmed out blog pieces that the 'writer' will never come back here to comment on or to answer any comments that they receive here. Try keeping it real for a change.
